What happens when a Band Saw Meets a Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe?

Ever wonder what the inside of a well-smoked Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe looks like? Me either, but today it just had to happen. Corn cobs, like wood, are hydroscopic or Hygroscopic, meaning that they absorb water. Over time a corn cob pipe bowl will swell as it absorbs tars, nicotine, saliva and here in the Southern USA, humidity. Perhaps I could have found a better place to store my pipe than on the dashboard of my VW van, but after 9 months of daily smoking this pipe has finally gotten so swollen that the bowl has developed splits. So, rather than throwing my friend away I figured I would rather donate its body to science. Follow along as we bisect my poor pipe for the betterment of mankind.
