Steps shown from left to right
Step 1. Cob is cut to length.
Step 2. Cob is bored for tobacco.
Step 3. Cob is turned to shape.
Step 4. Cob is covered with Plaster of Paris compound.
Step 5. Bowl is sanded smooth.
Step 6. Finish is applied.
In the case of the right bowl the cob is burnished, or exposed to an open flame. This gets a final top-coat.
